The B3000-B is a mistic serial brain designed as a modern drop-in replacement for the serial B3000 brain, which is obsolete as of October 2009.

The B3000-B has the same functionality as the B3000, except that it does not support the Optomux protocol. Customers requiring an Optomux brain should see the B3000-B-OMUX.

Like the older B3000, the B3000-B is a high-performance processor used to remotely control a mix of SNAP analog and digital I/O modules on a B-series rack.

The brain connects to an Opto 22 controller or a host computer over an RS-485 serial link. It works with both legacy FactoryFloor (mistic) controllers, such as the SNAP-LCM4 and SNAP-LCSX, and with SNAP PAC S-series controllers. (With a SNAP PAC controller, PAC Project Professional is required.)
